150945Photo #150945A cycleway along Crick Road by Houlton abruptly stops as it becomes Northamptonshire. Considering the level of HGV traffic and the amount of warehouse worker commuting, a continuous cycle path to Crick/DIRFT would be an excellent alternative.Cycleway:

178985Photo #178985All streetlighting was completely removed by the local council from this stretch of road (between Hunsbury Hill Road and Ladybridge Drive, NN4) in 2016 and has never been replaced. Lone and vulnerable pedestrians (especially women and children) now feel extremely unsafe when walking along this unlit path, especially after dark. The council has not taken into account the increased risk of potential attack and/or accident in this area due to insufficient lighting. Please can adequate street lighting be replaced in this area urgently as there is no alternative safe route as other areas go through parkland and wooded areas.Track:

29022Photo #29022Chicanes and a dismount sign for the shared use path on the bridge over the M45.
This very short section of shared use path alongside the A5 provides a useful dog-leg link between two quiet lanes on route 50.
As evidenced by the tyre tracks on the right, the effect seems to be encourage cyclists to squeeze between the chicane fence and the trunk road rather than dismount and walk along what is otherwise a generously wide path between the trunk road and the bridge parapet.
